What Kind of Gambler are You?

Many gamblers all over the world, would gamble for fun, or gamble in the hope of making a profit. But there are other types of gamblers who, because their gambling addiction have succumb to various antisocial behavior. These are a few of the many types of gamblers that have been identified by Doctor Robert Custer, which shall be discussed here.

The first type of gambler according to Doctor Custer is called the professional gambler. These kinds of gamblers are, as mentioned above, often known as high rollers in the gambling world. These guys have gambling as a profession and actually earn a good living out of it! They are often times very skilled in various gambling games that they would like to play, controlling both their money and length of game play time. These gamblers are not at all gambling addicts because they have very strategic minds, as they are always waiting for the best opportunity in order to make as much of a profit as they can.

The second type of gambler is the antisocial type; who try to make use of gambling in order to make a certain amount of profits illegally. These folks would most likely be the people that arrange horse and dog racing fixes; or be those types of people that would try to win in a game by means of cheating his or her opponents.

The third kind of gambler is what we call the casual or social gambler. These people can be found in various social or club gathering events, who, gamble only for recreational purposes and see gambling mainly as a form of entertainment to them. A lot of these recreational gamblers would mainly be family people, and would never allow gambling to get in the way of their family and various social obligations. To them, it is all in the name of fun.

As compared to the three types mentioned above, serious social gamblers, on the other hand, are the kind of gamblers that would spend a lot of their time gambling, as for them, this could be a major and primary source of relaxation and fun but they still would not let their gaming habits get in the way of their family and social life.

The fifth kind of gambler is the relief and escape type of gambler. These people would often find themselves being anxious, lonely, depressed, or bored and would often resort to gambling in order to pass their time and forget about their problems or any feelings of unhappiness and discontent. Lastly, we have the compulsive gamblers who no longer have any control over any of their addictions on gambling. These people cannot go on with their normal lives and will always think of ways in order to gamble at the expense of other people, even their loved ones. The addiction would be so bad that some would resort to stealing.

It is essential to know the various types of gamblers and be able to help those who are at a potential risk of a gambling addiction.
